My friends and I have just been getting farther and farther apart from each other during summer vacation.
We didn't even hang out/see each other for months!
I really want to see what's new, but I don't know how to invite them without looking desperate.
Or what to do for the matter.
Any ideas? |

if they’re your friends, why would it seem desperate? it sounds perfectly normal that you’d want to keep in touch esp if you’re growing farther apart. just be honest and tell them you’ve missed them and you’d like to hang out. nothing desperate about it
i’ve been isolating myself b/c of depression and my friends have been nothing but eager to keep in touch and find the opportunity to hang out. i sure as hell don’t see that as being desperate. i totally appreciate their efforts. your friends should feel the same way, too. if they don’t, it’s not your fault. |
| I was thinking the same thing, if they are your friends, you shouldnt be desperate for their attention, you should receive it anyways...because thats what friends do. LOL If you worry about something like that maybe they arn’t true friends. |
| Friends contact other friends to see what they’re up to. That’s part of what keeps the relationship going. Go ahead and send your friends an email or text message just to say hi, let them know you’ve been thinking about them. Or better yet, just call them up and ask how their summer has been coming along. Good luck! |
| OMG I know EXACTLY how you feel! Except there is one friend I am purposely kind of not talking to because she isn’t really that great of a friend, but that’s a different story. Chances are, if they are your real friends, they probably miss you too! I keep in touch by just sending a quick text message/email (whatever you normally do to contact your friends) and just say hey what’s up? You won’t seem desperate (though as the other ladies above mentioned if you’re really friends you will never seem desperate) and there’s never anything wrong with just saying hi. My mom always says people will never get mad at you if you do a nice thing for them....and if they do, they’re weird lol! Ok I’m kind of rambling now, but I hope I helped you out a little! :D |
